Whetstone Prairie Dorper Sheep Farm 

2010 National Champion!  RF5170 is a fullblood QR ram with length, girth, and superior hind end.  He is a massive ram that will nicely complement our breeding program. First lambs are due December 2010.

Whetstone 8074 (above), a yearling fullblood QR ram, is the sire for our 2010 spring and fall lambs.  This ram will bring fast growth, thickness, and excellent shed to our next generation of lambs.  This picture was taken March 2010 note that he is almost completely shed out.

Here is Whetstone 9017 an RR Fullblood ram whom we exposed to a few ewes before the upcoming 2010 National Dorper Show in Sedalia, MO.  This 14 month old is powerful.  Shedding very nicely as well.

Here is RF4849, "Phil", a solid fullblood ram out of Riverwood Farmswith a neck like a spare tire.  This ram added nice muscle and the R gene at  Codon 171 to our lambs.  Phil was reserve champion at the 2008 Corn Belt show and sale.

VW7024 our first flock sire purchased as a spring ram lamb at the 07 Midwest Stud Ram Sale in Sedalia, MO (June 07) .  VW7024 really grew into a magnificent ram by Sept 2008 (above).

We  only keep exceptional ewes.  Here are some of our ewes grazing in late June 2009. 

The ewe in the center looks like she's going to pop with her twins (Oct. 09). (Look to the right for the result).

Here are our first set of Dorper ewes purchased a few years ago from Karoo Genetics (2 fullbloods on the right) and Vmann (two 75% ewes on the left).

Our Dorper ewes thrive on both cool season and warm season grasses.  Note that the fat guardian donkey (Patty) does too.  We had to put a grazing muzzle on Patty as she became morbidly obese on our pastures.  We didn't want her to founder.

Everything was fine a few days later as this fullblood ewe gave birth to a healthy ram and ewe lambs.
